Lime Plant

SG, Singapore

I got this plant around Jan - Feb and its been doing great. went through a period where it died before new growth sprouted. in the photo you can see the old stems that my mother cut down. New growth usually sprouts very quickly. Recently, however, I noticed this problem. attaching photos of the problem.
.. the older leaves near the bottom keep dropping..

first pic is whole plant
second pic is what it grows in. its the 'default' from when I first purchased.
third pic is the issue. the leaves all keep getting this yellow and wrinkled appearance.

It looks to me like a watering problem. The soil is too wet between watering.

Citrus are kind of picky about water. They need to be thoroughly soaked, but in between watering they don't like going too dry, but they need oxygen in the root area. This calls for a really good soil that can hold a certain amount of water, yet drains really well.

Now that you can see where the growth is coming from you can finish removing the dead parts that will not come back.

Its natural phenomena.
It can be serious if leaves get damaged (some dark spots or eaten by bugs).
don't worry.

like you, I have to grow my Lemon bush/tree indoors, the citrus family ALL require the same growing conditions.
I find my plant sheds a lot of leaves, either yellow or brown in colour, this is normal at certain times if year. When this leaf fall starts it is quite frightening and can use you to panic however,
I gather up the leaves examine the well, spy -looking glass helps, look back of leaves as well as frontside, searching for any very ting bugs, little insects also, these can suck out the leaf sap and cause yellowing, IF nothing shows up you know your BUG free.
Next test is, scrape away some soul I the pot, look see IF it is very dry, this will tell you that your waterig regime needs amending. Maybe try evening watering wher the temp is cooler etc.
If the soil feels wet or even damp after a few days you have either the pot sitting in a deep saucer and the plant is sitting in water, make sure after about 2 hours the excess water is removed.
Lastly, have you offered any feed to the water??? when you do this task. Every few weeks (maybe 6 weeks) I give a liquid feed in the watering can, my preferred feed is liquid seaweed based as it covers flowering, healthy leaf and gives nutrients to the plants. If you can get this at garden store, it will tell you how much feed to add to the water ratio, DONT add extra as too much feed is not good for the plants, if you loose the label from the bottle, a good guide for dosage is, the mixture should look like VERY weak tea,
Lastly, If you ever find any very FINE webs on the plant, you have a common problem for citrus, called Spider Mites, this will need immediate attention.

Hope this gives you some confidence and more elpful ways how to care for your lovely plant, the blossom has a beautiful perfume.
Good luck and Kindest Regards.
