We've found a few patches of this weird white stuff in our garden, just on the ground, not on any plants that I've noticed. The only way I can think of to describe it is it's sort of like melted marshmallow drizzle, or like spray insulation, but white. It's bizarre. I can get a picture of it if it would help but I don't have one at the moment.
Any ideas what the heck it might be? (And no, it's not that spittlebug stuff.)

Weird white "drizzle" in the garden?
I think it is some kind of fungus.
