What are they? These plants are very sturdy and spread. I think it will flower soon, Leaves are long and pointed and slightly edged. Overall somewhat similar to a lily stalk and leaves, more profuse though.. From S. Ontario. Thank you

It's possible it could be a physostegia virginiana. Have you ever seen it flower before?
Thank you so much!. I think you are right. It did bloom last year but I forget what it looked like. However, a few years ago I did have some "obedient" plants and thought they had all gone. They really spread. I'll double-check once they bloom.
