I bought neem oil and sprayed my mint leaves because little critters were eating it but now im worried about if it's safe to use my mint leaves in my water? My son also had the habit of going to my plant and chewing on the leaves. Can someone please help?
Neem Oil
You can wash off the neem oil once the pests are dead.
Keep the plant out of reach of your son until he has learned not to eat things that are not approved.
Neem leaves are edible as long as you keep it to a small amount. But it is possible some sensitive people may have allergy reaction to the oil. I wouldn't even worry about eating plants sprayed with it, but it depend on how the neem oil was produced, they tend to have other things included and may not be organic and contaminant free.
Also the typical neem oil they sell in Home Depot are more processed and can lacks the chemical "azadirachtin" which is the key for repelling pests. Therefore I try to get cold press neem oil that specifically advertise they have this compound present, of course it will be more pricey as well.
