squash plant, unhealthy appearance

Monroe, VA

One of my early summer crookneck squash plants doesn't look "right". The other plants are tall with the right color green leaves. The affected plant is low to the ground with coarse, somewhat crumpled dark green leaves that have some white spots on them. The fruit growing on it also does not look healthy. Can you tell me what is wrong and if I should remove it from the garden?

Really need a picture, but it sounds like it might have a disease.

Is this what is going on?

I looked at the pictures, it might possibly be the cause. I removed the plant from my garden regardless of what was affecting it.

Just a reminder....don't put the discarded plant into the compost pile. Bag it up and throw it away or burn it.

Great idea 1lisac!!! Thanks. This practice will be helpful to many of us who's learning to cultivate a home garden. Whether it's veggies or ornamental gardening.
