Too hot for carrots and radishes?

Milford, MA

I planted some carrots and radishes in mid April and both germinated pretty quickly. Since then there has been minimal growth. We did have a few 90+ degree days about 2 weeks after I planted them. Could this be what's slowing them down? Should I ditch them and start over or ride it out and see what happens?

Thanks for any ideas!

No harm in starting more, and letting the ones grow that are already in the ground. That way you spread out the harvest.
Plant a new crop every couple of weeks.

ive actually had a carrot to bolt on me (go to flower) because of the heat, but that is ok with me, because i actually did that on purpose so i can collect some fresh seed this year, lol.

Last year i had a heck of a lot better luck starting them as an autumn crop, for us here in southern VA, starting them in spring is like racing against time, because summer comes rushing in so fast.
