I have a beautiful Redbud tree that split in half, my husband duck taped it and it grew back but it has a big cavity where water collects. I am afraid it will cause the tree to rot. Is there anything I could use to fill this cavity to save my tree?
Save my Redbud
I couldn't help but notice you said your husband duck taped the tree? Was this when it was much younger? You could probably fill it with ready mix concrete. Or you could drill weep holes into it and put a piece of steel pipe or conduit in the hole so it didn't close back up. I would think the tree would eventually close that hole itself though. How long has it been like this?
