Hardy kiwi with messy stems

Snellville, GA

I have few years hardy kiwi plants.
I just put arbor between the hardy kiwis.
Now, I am thinking.

Should I pick just one trunk and cut off all other trunks?
And let the trunk big and straight with stake, keep on cutting new trunks for concentrate to grow the trunk?

Or just all trunks lead to this arbor?

Thank you.

Kiwis get way too big for that arbor. I would add more support right at the kiwi perhaps stretching out the other way, too. 20' or so minimum. Then you can allow several trunks to form, and 1-2 go in each direction.

Thank you for advice Ms. Diana_K.
Yes, they seem spread a loooot. I wish if I could built trellis myself but I can't. And no so much budget.

In that case, I would select 2 well placed branches and train them up the trellis. Shorten the others, trying to keep it 'shrubby'; difficult to do, but without support there is not much else you can do.

Thank you.
