What is this garden beast?

Found this insect on a wild geranium. Any idea what it is? It less than 1/8" long.

I think it is a mealybug. Sometimes they have less waxy coatings than normal.

Looks like a caterpillar with eggs on it's back.

Sure does! Google Parasitic Wasp Eggs

It didn't walk like a caterpillar, and its body color didn't seem to match mealy. It was greenish brownish. I thought mealy until I Google it and its color was different. Wasp eggs on a tomato worm/caterpiller have similar appearance but this beast is TINY. Second thoughts?

Sure is tiny!
Not a caterpillar with parasite eggs, then.

There are many species of mealybug.

Are there more of them?

Maybe keep it in a jar or bug-keeper until it matures. Somehow it looks like a baby.

This was the only beast I saw on my plant. Not knowing what it was, I left it on the plant. I'll try to find him again and capture him like you said. His days are probably short numbered if those are indeed wasp eggs on his tiny little torso.

I regoogled mealybug and now see that there ARE different color ones. Different species as you say Diana_K. I thought mealys were always white but I saw brown ones in my google search. The general body shape and the distance between its legs sure looks like a mealy.
