Hi, our garden has high sloping beds and at this time of the year one area is overrun with bluebells. Whilst they look lovely for a couple of weeks they are a nightmare to control and take over any other plants we've tried to grow so we end up with an empty patch of soil. Any ideas for plants with good covering and that can cope on a dry, sun exposed and that grow quickly? Thanks so much in advance.
Plants to use for good cover to help reduce bluebells
I wonder if something just a bit taller, such as a low, spreading shrub would shade them out? If not, I think a shrub would stand up better to having the bluebells as a ground cover.
Choice of a shrub will depend on what zone you are in.
If you are not in the USA, then you could compare your local climate to figure out what USDA zone is most like yours.

If it were me, I would go for a low spreading ground cover. This way the bluebells would push through as they are taller so you can enjoy them. When they die off for the summer, the low ground cover will show leaving you with greenery rather than dead space. I could have some suggestions if I knew where you lived.
