1000's of bugs/flies in bush

Columbus, OH

Hello all,
in the bush in front of my veranda live thousands of little, almost transparent flying bugs. They are bigger than fruit flies and when squooshed leave a surprising trail of dark orange on the wall. They're a real nuisance. What are they and how do I get rid of them?

The video clip would show you more, but this site doesn't allow uploading such a file. They are hard to see on a photo, but if you look closely you can see them in flight.

Thank you for your advice!

Do you have more of a closeup of the insect?

Google some images of White Flies. I do not know about the orange gore, though.

Mealy bugs can ooze orange when you squish them, but they do not fly.

To get pics:
Smear a piece of stiff paper with Vaseline, or spray it with cooking oil. Hang it near the greatest concentration of the pests.
If a simple piece of paper does not trap at least one, then try a yellow card, about the color of the yellow stripe on the road. That is a bit richer orange-tinted than a clean yellow, but bright! Some pests are attracted to the yellow.
An ordinary fly strip could work, too.
If the population is that great a few of them will blunder into the sticky material no matter what color it is.
