Sunflower seedling, still indoors, so far appears to be the only one with skeletonizing leaves. What should I be watching for and do?
Thank you in advance.
Seedling skeletonized
VERY tiny pests, perhaps caterpillar.
I had some herbs stripped down to bare stems, and only found 3 caterpillars, less than 1/2" each. Green, so they were camouflaged among the plants.
I found one bb sized white ball on the underside of one leaf. I assume I should destroy the plant? Of course the pest chose the healthiest specimen, can't blame them for that.
Give it a chance to recover. Keep watching for more pests.
Sticky-paper traps to catch the beggars?
Spray with soap or soap-and-alcohol to wash off and kill some random, unknown bugs?
Someone said that coffee and coffee grounds tend to repel many kinds of insects, you could try that.
I would try to put the damaged plants where whatever-it-is can't spresad to your other plants. If you have to sacrifice them or put them out in the cold too early, that might be better than infesting every plant you have.
