I didn't know where to ask this but could someone tell me, I'm wanting to mail some live plants to my friend so she can have some cuttings of mine. But someone told me that in order to send to her I'd need a permit to mail a plant? Has anyone ever mailed a plant before? Did u need a permit if you're not a business? And I know you can't send to California & Hawaii. Any comments? Thanks.
Need some help plz mailing a plant
In what country does your friend live?
Each state has its requirements. If you google the name of the state then search for whatever office is in charge of such things you might find out the details.
Many states also do not allow soil to be shipped. Pack the plant clippings in pure peat moss.
What species of plants, and what state do you want to send them to?
What type of plant are you talking about AND what size of plant, there are various methods to prepare any plants for post, size, weight, and health of said plants all have to be taken into consideration too AND also what type of plant you are posting.
Most post / delivery companies can deliver NEXT DAY, but you have to make sure your friend will be home to unwrap the live plants as soon as possible or they will perish faster than the speed of light.
More info is required as to how to pack the plant, what to de to prepare the plant and do NOT water any plant 2 days before the posting.
Good luck.
Kind Regards.
WeeNel.
