Is it too late to plant tomato seeds?

Batavia, IL

I got excited after I found some unusual cherry tomato plant seeds at Burpee and bought some last weekend. I'm in Zone 5....Is it too late to start these seeds indoors?

Peachtree City, GA(Zone 8a)

When it gets very hot, tomatoes have a hard time holding their blooms and setting fruit. I say why not try. You can plant some of the heat tolerant types like
Hybrids:

Bella Rosa
Big Beef
Florida 91
Fourth Of July
Grape
Heat Wave II
Homestead 24
Manalucie
Mountain Crest
Porter or Porter Pink
Sanibei
Solar Fire
Spitfire
Sunbeam
Sun Leaper
Sun Chaser
Sunmaster
Super Fantastic
Sweet 100

Heirloom:

Costoluto Genovese originated in Italy
Heirloom,
Green Zebra
Heirloom,
Quarter Century
Sioux
Super Sioux

Liberty Hill, TX(Zone 8a)

When I gardened in SoCal I got tomatoes all summer long and many times the temps reached into the triple digits for weeks on end but it cooled down at night, allowing for pollination. Even in Tx my plants produce all summer even tho they slow down when it gets really hot.

Cherry tomatoes have a shorter time from sowing to ripe fruit. I'm with weeding, you will ever know until you try. What type of tomato seeds are they?

Batavia, IL

Yellow Pear Cherry
Italian Ice Cherry
Black Pearl Cherry

I planted them last night, we'll see how they do! If not, hopefully the seeds will still be good next year.

Any tips on getting them off to a great start?
