I bought 3 bare-root gooseberry plants. Followed all directions. All 3 started growing leaves. On two, the leaves shriveled up and look like they're about to fall off (this started about a week after planting). The other one is doing fine. I'm still watering them in hopes that the roots are still good and it will either produce a new cane or new leaves.
Should I keep at it or try to return them? I'm an intermediate gardener but completely new to gooseberries.
I've grown other plants from bare root (raspberries & blueberries) and have never had this happen.
Thank you for any advice.
New gooseberry (from bare root) leafed out then shriveled
Was there a sudden change in the weather? Did it get warm fast and they dried out?
If there is a limited time to return them, then I would return them promptly.
