healthy pomegranate yield

Las Vegas, NV

My pomegranate tree has many flowers and some of the limbs are almost touching the ground. Of course my goal is to grow numerous healthy delicious fruit. Should I trim or thin out some of these limbs and bulbs now or should I wait until late winter? I wouldn't even know how, when or where to start.

Pomegranates are so forgiving you can do practically anything to them around here (SF Bay Area, zone 9b) and they bounce back.

Now: If you want lots of slightly smaller fruit, then just let it be.
If you want fewer, but slightly larger fruit then thin the fruits so that wherever you see 2 that are very close you remove one.

I generally prune mine for shape in the winter, but if a branch or two are leaning too far there is no harm in pruning them at any time.

Thanks, that's very helpful.
