Oh, Kathy, beleive me, I understand..smart move not to bring the seeds out with your little one :) I bet he's adorable! My daughter's best friend (they met at age 2-1/2 and have been best friends since!) has a 14 month old who's just adorable, but gets into everything possible with glee :)
The fun of exploring at that age!
2015 Spring Round Robin - On the Wing!
These are just some of my pots that I moved with me last summer. 3 van loads. 3 apple trees in there too. Was very pleased to see peony coming up already. Glad to know I did.t lose those. I know I lost several iris. They rotted out in the pots. :( it will be like Christmas when things do come up because many of the tags are missing.
Val winter sowing was great - I need to start transplanting. I got about 2/3 to come up. I think I may leave the other 1/3 in the back somewhere just in case. I probably don't need anymore seeds - but the robin was such fun last fall I couldn't resist.
Memays,
I'm so glad your WS'ing was so successful first year around. I had a hard time controlling myself because there was so many seeds...and I didnt want to just try a "few" and then it was a roaring success and I had to wait another year! :)
Minne,
It's heartbreaking to move and not be able to take some of your lovelies with you. I'm crossing my fingers for the rest that they sprout and grow well for your new garden. Gee, we are SO easy to please...just a few plants sprouting just makes our days :) !!!
Good GRIEF!
I got locked out of my account and I finally got logged in. I have been soo frustrated.
Phew.
So, you have already figured out I changed the flight path a single stop to fix the robin's orientation (flying north!). :)
Glad she's moving along. Hopeful that I can log into my account on all of my different devices.
Hope all's well.
A.
Glad you're back, Amanda!
Thanks! It's been frustrating, but always glad to come "home" to DG.
Anyone finding any new lovelies in the Robin yet? She was packed to the brim with seed from the Fall Robin and also new donations from myself and a couple of kind donors.
Let's hear what's going on in your yard/greenhouses!
I am slowly clearing the weeds from my yard, as I like to say, "an inch at a time." At this rate, I'll be finished before summer is over. :D
xo
A.
Hi all who is enjoying the robin now? Amanda you asked about gardens -I"'ll bite and share mine. I was anxious awaiting my pipevine to break dormancy and its coming back nicely. I was also wondering about my hardy begonia and it too is emerging. The maypop emerged and then some with stray runners being summarily relocated (after advice from others here). The winter sowing jugs need transplanting but it's been pouring and they remain jug-bound. I'm a bit scared some of them will drown. I had a fabulous surprise this spring a redbud bloomed on my property line - I actually think it may have been on the neighbor"s yard but it was loaded with seedpods so now I'm trying to grow a small orchard lol. Meanwhile I think I've lost some coreopsis in the front. Usually that is blooming now but I don't see it - I think I rearranged those front beds too much! I just want it to not rain this weekend so I cam play .... and the native plant society has a plant sale Saturday and I just might HAVE to go just go support them...
Amanda
Glad you are back.
My wintersown seeds are just starting to sprout. It is always so exciting when that happens. I have had many plants over the years from the seed robins take hold and grow beautifully. I have also had a number of plants in trades from other DG members help to shape my gardens. It is always so nice to meet others that share the same gardening passions that I have.
Kathy,
Do you still have the robin? Who does it go to next?
I understand that the flight plan is not as posted above, that there were some changes.
Val
Val the only change was that Katgroves moved up to 2nd on the list and everyone else dropped down one slot, beyond that I don't know who has possession of the Robin right now. Maybe whomever has it will check in and let us know it's current location. Have a great weekend everyone!
Thanks, Nanny,
I didnt know if the order was otherwise changed :o)
Have a great weekend...it's a wonderful spring (and sunny) weekend here...great for garden work!
Hi everyone.
I am still challenged with internet access so I'm using the phone exclusively. You know what a drag that can be!
At least I'm able to sign in! That was mostly ridiculous. Sigh.
So the Robin has stalled, but I hope she will be back in the air Monday. One of our new participants didnt know how long they had to keep it. Ahem.
Not trying to be crass, but I've been accused of it before.
There are RULZ posted at the top of this thread and the interest thread. I'm most certain that the RULZ cover the basic FAQs so please read them if you havent done so.
Even seasoned members should scan them. Th RULZ don't change much from season to season, but important things do change, like the latest harvest date acceptable for inclusion in the Robin.
The bird is designed to keep itself going. If anyone has a question, please feel free to post it here on the main thread. One of our experienced members would be happy to answer if I am not available immediately to answer your question.
Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding.

Hi,
The Robin is on it's way to Carolyn22. I may have had it a couple of days longer than I should have and I apologize, things were a bit hectic for me and i hadn't had a chance to log in to DW once I asked to join the robin :(
I must say, it was really cool going through everything. I have never been involved with one of these and didn't know what to expect but it was great. Thanks to all the people who donated to this. I hope you all find what your are looking for.
Happy gardening,
Toni
Thanks for posting Toni!
Oh boy, Carolyn, I'm next after you ;o) (cant contain my excitement!)
Stephanie, what's going on with your move? Send me an update if you get a chance, so I'll know where to send the robin probably in the next week.
Val
Thank you for the heads up!
The robin is here! My cats are sniffing every inch of it!
LOL! Awesome! I kept it away from my cats as I didn't want any issues haha
Enjoy!
Thanks Toni.
(what is it about cats and seeds?)
Carolyn DAH ling...
and subsequent DAHling participants....
Do be sure to make contact with the person you're shipping to BEFORE you ship.
For me this would be like a two or three day warning buzzer to get my chores done an my affairs in order. Cause I have as much discipline with a box of seeds as I do with a box of chocolates. Not good.
Enjoy the day my friends.
A.
Oh, Amanda!
You sound like me....seeds and chocolate...two of my downfalls - ha ha!
Carolyn, thanks for the heads up.
Groovy, what adorable cats! I have dogs, but they are LIKE cats (honestly...I find shih tzus very cat-like, esp'lly my oldest)
Packing packing packing. No official move date yet...
Uggggggh! I HATE packing! That is one reason I stay in one place. lol
Lots of things never got unpacked from last August because we were intending on making another move. What helped is we saved ALL the boxes so I know what goes in which box (for the most part). I just dont like the fact that we fill two 36' Uhauls and then some. Smh. Time to down size.
That doesnt count my several van loads of plants :)
I too hate moving and packing too - however, my plants have always been the first thing that I moved and have taken great care.
I do know the next time we move, there will be outside plants that will be moved as well though.
Carolyn, when are you guys coming south?
Steph: sending you strength and endurance. :)
Amanada - it is too bad it isn't today that we go South. It is snowing! Argghhh!!!
I know! What's with this snow??!! I want to come south :)
I received the Robin tonight....what a wonderful "present" to find after a long hard day at work. ;0)
Holy cow! I have not ever seen SO many seeds in one place....and quite a variety! Took a break to post this......will try and finish asap and get it mailed soon! Will post when it goes out
Im glas we arent moving today. We had nearly 2" of anow the other day and right now its sleeting. We have a new close date. I have more time to pack, which I desperately need.
The robin will probably be at my place less than 24 hours but you can be darn sure I will go through it with a fine toothed comb. :)
Glad there's this little bright spot, STeph. :)
minnesippi-What are all the buildings? Is that a greenhouse I see?
There are two out buildings (a barn on the left and a "tin can" on the right) to the south of the barn is a raised bed that was covered with a row house of sorts. The "greenhouse" to the right of the tin can was a row house that will need to be recreated. Many of the metal poles are still on the property but have been taken down.
Well it looks like it has great potential. I bet you have plans already. Looks like there is a fenced lot too. That is awesome. Best of luck with the move.
They used to keep horses in that area on the right, its mostly fenced.
Lots of worj to do, in and out. House was built in '58 with one owner. Solid but needs lots of updating. The wallpaper is from the '60's!
We are very excited. We first made an offer in November so its a long time coming.
Wow minnesippi, that's an awesome place! Congratulations. All original from one owner...wow. Sounds like a good candidate for a mid century time capsule. Do you have any pics of the interior?
Stephanie,
Your new place looks gorgeous. I wish you much happiness and happy growing there!
The Robin was mailed today; I got food poisoning. YUCK. Did not make it to the PO Sat, but mailed today. Still sick home from work. ENJOY...there were alot of goodies in that box!
Sorry I've been MIA
Val -
I am still feeling the effects of food poisoning from a week ago Saturday. I hope you feel better soon. Really makes one want to go out to eat, doesn't it?
