Can I plant fall/spring bulbs all year long if kept cold?

pomona,ca and crestl, United States

I saved a bunch of daffodils, tulips, anenomes in a cold cabin basement. My plan was to pot them in planters until just before they bloomed and then bring them inside for some color. After faded re-plant in garden.

Cant imagine you will get them into flower IF planted NOW, But check the bulbs over and make sure they are not damaged/ diseased or soft, IF OK, plant them now in containers, water, they should give you some greenery and also an odd flower BUT, they will be allowed to plant outside maybe around June and they will naturally die down all their foliage, this dying of the foliage is good for the bulbs as this helps the bulbs use this as feed to give energy for the next years flowers.
Hope this helps you out a little.
Kindest Regards.

Plants can be made to flower 'out of season' by tricking them into thinking it is a different time of the year. Since most bulbs (certainly the ones you are asking about) go through the winter (cold) dormant, then grow and flower as it warms you can copy that (cold, then warming) and hope that it will work.
This is the way commercial wholesalers get all the flowers you want for all the holidays in bloom whether it is the right season or not.
A whole greenhouse will be kept cold, light controlled or whatever the plants need to make them think it is time to grow at the right time for the market.

I would sure go for it with the bulbs you have!

However, once they have been exposed to a season or so outdoors they reset their clock so they are growing in synch with the climate.
