I started trays of gerbera daisies, basil, pumpkin-on-a-stick and sweet peppers from seed. The seeds popped a couple of weeks ago, but have just sat there. I had them in the house, which is warm, and they did nothing. so I moved them to the Florida room which has more light but is unheated. Although we are borderline zones 8/9, coastal Georgia, it has been an unusually cold winter for us. Is this the reason the sprouts are just sitting there? I have watered and fertilized with a diluted solution. What's going on?
sprouts not growing
Sounds like most of your choices are distinctly warm season plants. They need more heat.
Could be lack of light and/or lack of heat. I'm thinking heat bc low light usually makes them stretch for the light (leggy). Room temp. is probably not warm enough, it wouldn't be at my house. Unless you keep your house at 80*.
Get them a heat mat and crank that thing up to about 80º. Those are all pretty much heat lovers.
