Thanks ladies.
Helena, how big is your greenhouse?
Speaking of which, the top caved in on mine, too much ice. DH has had a rough 3 days, jacking up 2x4's
and repairing everything. The fiberglass panels will have to be replaced on top of the g house, a chore for this summer. We just covered the top with plastic sheeting which will
be ok temporarily,.
Love your pics Debra especially the purp with butterfly.
Morning Glories 2015 # 02
Debra, those are very pretty!
oh Jackie, I'm so sorry this has happened. I hope you do not stress over it too much.
Boy, has my backyard changed since then, eh? The neighbors are different, with three dogs, a new deck with no roof, and you can actually see the fence LOL
Thanks, I found that photo on a cd I transferred some stuff too, so glad I did. Nothing from 2008 on this computer.
The pod of the basement purple splashy jmg has ripened. I am glad I caught it before it popped. I have one for each of us LOL
Debra, I'm not going to stress over this set back. If I could find a new place with a built in sunroom and a few acres for DH, I would just move. Hopefully a place sitting on higher ground.
Your purple basement mg was a beauty.:-)
Jackie, I'm not sure of the measurements for my gh. I think mainly is that it's not organized neatly. I'm growing lots of salvias too, I did get to straighten my plants a bit today while watering. Took half my salvia seedlings outside for some bit of sun and rain. It feels just right outside. Bought some bigger than a gallon pots for my mg's yesterday.
Jackie, hope your gh will get repaired when it warms up for you. I had a panel or 2 blow off when it got too windy. These ghs aren't made to last forever, but I learn to fix them myself. Dh
gave the maintenance of it to me.
Helena, glad you got some work done inside your g house. Its 55 or more here, feels great even without any sun.
If DH had
not jacked up the roof for me, Helena, my plants would have all frozen to death.
Some serious repair here and I couldn't have done it.The rest will have to wait until warm weather. The top is covered with new plastic sheeting to cover the gaping holes.
78 here today, and I saw my first hummingbird!
Oh wow, Jackie. Hopefully it will warm up for us . LK YAY!
I'm glad your DH put that plastic up for you Jackie. That would have been very upsetting to loose all your plants.
I'm happy to hear you had your first hummer Linda. I'm keeping an eye out to see my first one soon too. My cherry tree has been blooming, coral honeysuckle and yesterday I saw that snow peas vines started blooming too
Love your blooms Helena..I've never seen a pea bloom that I didn't like.
Pretty pink in the center of the bloom.
Is the 2nd pic your Cherry tree? .
We could see our 1st hummer in a couple of weeks. Been so cold, I wouldn't
be surprised if they come late this yr.
Love those blooms Helena.
Thanks ladies. Yes Jackie, that's my cherry tree blooms. Funny that it doesn't get pollinated so no fruits.
Spent half hour yesterday untangling my mg vines. I lost quite a few vines but the rest look healthy. I let them spend the night outside in patio. Hope to get them into pots soon. So it's going to be another rainy day here. Started a few more seeds.
Love the Cherry tree blooms too Helena. I always wantrd a cherry tree, we just never got around to buying one.
Sorry you lost some vines. I always lose a few too.
Rain here today but nice and warm so I don;t mind so much. We had a beautiful day yesterday with sun all day, how nice it was.
I was able to get my new seedlings in their little pots today. It makes a big difference when the seeds are fresh, they germinate a lot faster. I also was able to get four of my other vines into my new pots late in the afternoon. Just have to keep trying a little at a time.
Lot's of rain here too Jackie, but it was warm. I even took out 5 big pots with tropical and salvia plants to get some rain too. Nice enough for them to stay outside.
I planted a bunch of seeds today also. I got two, 72 cell trays, and I have one filled. Mostly morning glories, but a few daturas, and 4 of clocks too.
So glad you have some color there, Helena. I saw the neighbors forsthia starting to bloom down the street.
I have seeds popped up everywhere down stairs, but havn't been down often enough to tend to much. so tired from work.
Maybe this weekend I can catch some of the cool blooms I missed this week down there.
All I've seen is the curled up afterwards.
I don't know what is wrong with me, I am not very in to gardening right now. Joe however, has dug the potato patch and raked the bean patch, and is getting ready his garden area. Everytime I go out, all the dogs around me try to climb the fence and bark bark bark.. so I turn right back around and go inside to my chair and fall asleep.
Bleah. sorry.. I think I am tired of work work work..
Helena, are you not likely to see any more freezing temps there in Ms?? How nice that
would be. Glad you;re getting some gardening chores done.
Your off to an early start Linda. Hope you get good germination on your sds.
Debra, maybe you;re just run down and needing some vitamins, probably overworked too.
Try some of those gummy vitamins. My DD's Dr told her the gummy vitamins are like taking liquid vitamins. I've been taking them and I can tell a difference. :-)
