Jade Plant in Trouble

Hilliard, OH

Good afternoon,
I come to this amazing forum yet again because we have a jade plant that has suddenly shown significant problems. We have had no trouble with the plant for a long time; however, after a vacation we found a large piece broken off. We thought it could have been an accident from the dogs or sitter; however, a couple of days ago we noticed this second large piece that had fallen off and we are confident that nothing touched the plant. Why would these sections break off? Can we save it?
Thank you yet again!

Not sure why they broke off. Is the stem mushy?

I would root the parts that broke off (if they are firm) and grow more plants. REALLY easy: Pot it up just like it already has roots.

The stem is not mushy, and I will try to replant the broken pieces.

I have heard that jade plants require good air circulation to avoid diseases. Also avoid over-watering. I tend to tuck my low-maintenance plant in an out-of-the-way spot indoors but that spot also doesn't have good air flow so I'm trying to do better.
