Bonnies Cold Crops are already in. I think Rosemary may be among them

I will do a little research on the soil kits, I can pick some up and bring them to the plant swap for those that want them. I know you buy them and mail them in, they suggest that you buy more than one and take samples from several spots in your yard.

Despite it being a little chilly today I spent time pruning out dead stalks of our herbaceous perennials. I leave them up all winter so the seed heads feed the birds and to encourage survival of the various insects that overwinter in the debris. It is a bit early for the insects to emerge, so I cut up the stalks and inserted them into containers to make "Insect Hotels". This kept most inhabitants and their homes intact, and will provide warm season shelter for others as well. A little green worm poked it's head out of the cut end of one of the first stalks I pruned.
last 2 posts= nifty!!
Nice, greenthumb! The makings of my insect hotels are still on my patio table and in brush piles.
