Christmas lights for frost protection

Crestview, FL(Zone 8b)

I was wanting to try string lights to help protect my citrus trees from frost but they are too far from the house to use plug in lights. So I was thinking of solar string lights. But seems they are all LED, which Does not give off any heat. I've been told solar isn't powerful enough to give off enough heat either. Is that true??? And if not, where the heck can I fing solar string lights that are not LED??????

The solar panels that are included with such kits just do not collect enough power. The solar powered small lights (of any sort) really did not take off until low powered LEDs became cheap enough.

However, if you want to generate heat using Xmas lights, and run them off a battery you might find something that would work, though you may have to charge the battery with more solar panels, or bring it inside every few days.

Other ways:
Spray them with Cloud Cover.
Build a structure and drape clear plastic sheeting over it.
Keep them thoroughly watered. (Not soggy wet, just do not let them get stressed for lack of water)

Sounds like a good plan. Been trying to find them battery operated and still no luck. Only "indoor". Anyone know where I can find them?

This might help. Scroll down. There is a way to run 120v Xmas lights off a 12v battery.
