Can Porter Weed be trimmed back for the winter or should we let it go. Right now the Red Porter Weed has grown into a bush! Thank you!

From a quick google search I have found:

There are several species of plants called Porterweed.
They have different growth habits.
The only place that mentioned pruning at all suggested early spring.
