We recently moved to Daytona florida and near our yard is this plant, it is about 3-4 ft tall and about 5 ft wide. the red "pinecone" looking "flowers?" that grow directly out of the ground are supposedly used by the women of the tropics. They pick them, squeeze the juice out of them and wash their hair with it. I tried it and my hair was really soft! I would also like to know if I can harvest seeds by drying the pinecones. Any info will be appreciated Thanks!
