Dracaena marginata

Gardner, KS

Need help. The leaves keep turning yellow and falling off, even at the top. The plant looks weird as their is only leaves in the middle of a couple of the stalks. How do I make it look normal again? Why do I keep losing leaves.
Also there is like 5-6 plants/stalks in this pot. Is that too many? Am I able to separate them into 2 different pots?

Thanks

These plants need to go fairly dry between watering. Thoroughly soak it, perhaps dunking the pot into a bucket or similar until the bubbling stops.
Then let it get pretty dry before you water again.

I think it is too old to be separated. You could try, but the roots will be so tangled I do not think it would work.

Have a very close look for pests, too. Some are so small all you can see is the damage.
Can you get a close up picture of the yellowing leaves? Also, look at possible hiding places such as where the leaves come off the stem.

When you water the plant, soak it with half strength liquid fertilizer, such as miracle-gro. That would be a half tablespoon per gallon of water, if the directions say one tablespoon per gallon.

That would take care of the plant's nutritional needs.

Repotting it in a larger pot will help too.
