apostle plant or disciple plant care.

Chambersburg, PA

My plant hasn't bloomed yet but it seems to be growing new baby plantlets in the soil. Should I remove them? Would that help the plant to bloom sooner? I guess they are new plantlets but I read that they usually come on the flower stalk after the flower has bloomed.
Can anyone help me on this. I never had this plant before so I need all the help I can get.
Thanks.

Neomarica gracilis may have baby plants on arching stems. When they touch down give them a little while to grow some roots, then you can detach them and include the soil around the roots when you transplant it. If you can hold the babies down in a separate pot it is the easiest. I have a hard time keeping the pots moist enough, though.

It will go dormant through the winter.
