Site Status Update

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

coleup, if several (and that's subjective) report the same problem, I would have started a thread here, yes.

The problem wasn't related to heavy traffic. The good news is, the problem was fixed as soon as I let the techs know that one person had contacted us and in the meantime, I worked to try to replicate and then troubleshoot it with them.

For the vast majority of us, we never experienced it; for the few who did, a cache-clearing was sufficient to get things back to normal :-)

Hi, The VigLink Opt Out button is not working for me, im still recieing the Viglink tracking cookies and sometimes it hangs up a page and i have to refresh and clear my cookies. very frustrating, can someone in ADMIN OPT ME Out of VigLink tracking thanks.

We can't because we don't have access to your browser or computer. You can use this link to opt out: https://www.viglink.com/opt-out

Coleup, I'm sorry - I meant to loop back to this the other day, but here's the answer to your question, from my main contact at IB back on 10/10:

"We just removed it on our end as well (so it's turned off in Viglink settings and the code is removed from the forum section) so they will definitely not be getting new cookies added from Viglink. Affiliate cookies generally last for 30-60 days so they would still see the old cookie if they haven't cleared it since yesterday."

Terry, there must be something more going on with Viglink cookies as I have been free of them for weeks (above) however, I just checked and they are back in the last 4 or so days. Actually, I just checked and the viglink cookie only appears after I access this forum and not when I access Mid Atlantic forum. Maybe the techs could check and do a re-do? Thanks

Edited to add that as of this morning api.viglink is storing cookies all over DG site.

I sent in an error report... I see it on this page too.

the "contact us" page would not let me attach an image... so here it is.

I'm sure others have noticed it too... Heck, unless it's just me again.
Nope - it's on both my computers...

Funny, I just sent a message to "contact us" for the same issue! Every thread I click on has that!

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

glad it's not just me then.

I came here because for several hours I have been getting a message at very top left on DG pages saying memcache could not connect and there it is on the screen shot you posted above!

haven't done the contact us button or error report

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Same situation here.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

I have the same problem. Noticed it yesterday--Mon. 12-15.
Cannot open any posts.

Gita

Same here, but did find out that if you scroll down to the end of memcache cannot connect you can see the thread.

I am using an iPad, but maybe it works for PC users also? It's worth a try.

annapolis, MD(Zone 7b)

Gita, if you scroll down through the seemingly endless repeat messages of 'memcache could not connect', you will eventually reach a regular Daves Garden page. At least that's how it is currently working for me. Curiously some pages have fewer 'memcache' messages than others.

reminder to myself and others to use the Contact Us button at bottom of each page so Terry and Admin will know it is not an isolated problem.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

ditto to coleup

Leesburg, FL(Zone 9b)

have not heard back from "admin" yet.... but obviously this is an issue as it is everywhere and seems to be effecting everyone.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Same problem here...I use Mozilla FF on my laptop.

Madison, AL

Same problem here - I use Chrome - at first I did not realize the correct stuff was below the Memcache bit, but after a few tries I realized it. So it is not blocking the actual threads, just looking very strange.

annapolis, MD(Zone 7b)

admin has put up a separate thread for this many user problem

Quote from Terry :
We had one (only one :-) report at the help desk, which I've been working on directly with that member.

If it's a site-wide issue, I will start a new thread, but I need to hear (via the contact us link) from anyone who is personally experiencing the problem - preferably with details, such as a link to the forum thread(s) that are problematic, and what browser you're using, and if you know the size of your image(s) that aren't uploading. From what I can see, it looks like the images are trying to upload (there's a space for them), so I need to try to get a good idea of what the common denominators are, as well as an idea of how widespread the problem is, or isn't. Thanks!

Is there a thread for the quotes, smileys or other issues similar involving using these codes?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes, it's here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1378401/
