Snowman wine glasses

Victoria Harbour, ON

STEP #20

with a liner (didn't spend a whole lot of time on this) made a few stitches on the mitts by adding a little white in my blue paint

STEP # 21

with a deeper blue I gave a bit of shading to the mitt, before it was difficult to see the mitt, now more defined

STEP #22

with an old toothbrush I put a tad of watered down white (no too watered down, just ink consistency) and flicket a tad of white

when dry I did the same with blue (very little of the blue)
just tones down the face somewhat

so here sits a dozen snowmen waiting for me to give them a coat of finish

I'll let them cure and likely give them a coat tomorrow

Did finish the other two sets of pumpkins, drats a friend asked me for a set
what to do what to do??

hope one of you make a snowman and share

ooops

just a reminder, PLEASE do not put a gloss finish on it as it will not do your piece justice, will make it look like plastic

I use 'satin' finish

Fantastic Betty!!! Great tutorial as well. Easy to follow along with everything you said to do. Maybe in the Spring when I know I have all kinds of time, I'll try this.

Cocoa Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

Me, too. Going to keep my eye out for some inexpensive thrift store wineglasses. Small votive candle holders are always available for next to nothing. I had such fun working with oldest grand daughter, would like to try a project with youngest one, too.

Ocean Springs, MS

Betty, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to show us! Your directions are always very easy to follow! :) Can't wait to start mine but have to get baby shower stuff done and start on crochet elf slippers first! I sound like you... What to do? LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

You are all more than welcome..here is hoping you will indeed paint a few.

Tomorrow I'm off for Meaford Applefest, candle favpctory has a warehouse of goodies, the craft show and a manufacturers warehouse that has everything, a fabric shop and grandma lambs cooking store so full day for sure.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Bet she's having lots of fun by now!!

Waiving hi everyone.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Remember to tell them they are NOT usable as wine glasses anymore Judy - just decoration only. They could ill from the paints.....

Did you do the under spray?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Perhaps you bought crackle medium??

Give a light sanding (wet your sandpaper) barely toucjphing surface

Maybe add a titch of water and give another coat..who knows, might add to the puece

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, I did the under spray, but I did not dilute the paint. So I washed it all off, and have just put the first coat on. Will wait for it to dry, and see what happens.

Glenview, IL

Crossing fingers it works.

Excited to start too. I jist bought a nice glass for a buck.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It worked. Thinner paint works so much better.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Cool beans.

Glenview, IL

Smiling yay!

Glenview, IL

Good Morning...
Linda Kay so glad you were able to save and repaint.
...lol, kind of a good mistake for the resat of us!
I do hope to see some finished photo's...it's just fun.

yippy, It;s going to be a cold, icky fall day so i am tAKING A BREAK FROM THE HOUSE..(sorry,not screaming)

Anyway Betty, I got the frost spray. So, now do I spray the entire glass with it? Also, since i have the frost then no need for the tile sealer, right?

P.S. Thanks for the heads up Barb and Betty. I'll make a small note to the recipients about not drinking from them.

Victoria Harbour, ON

No Judy, it's either the frost spray OR the sealer

Use, entire outside of the glass needs to be covered.

I too am looking forward. To seeng a snowman glass or two or three

Heck, why not a dozen

You got to wait for paint to dry anyway, makes cheap pressie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well I am stopping here, as I need green paint. Not the best painting, but I gave it my best shot.
