White grub removal

Arlington, TX

Any ideas on how to get rid of these in planters? Not sure if they are Japanese beetle grubs or June beetle grubs .got dozens of them in some of my bigger planters and they are killing my jalapenos.
Iv heard of Milky spore powder but it only seems to come in amounts large enough to cover a lawn. dont think i need that much.

I would throw away that soil, start with new soil, then put the pot in a mesh so the adult beetles cannot get in to lay their eggs. Make the mesh large enough to surround the whole plant while the plants are young. When the plants are too big for the mesh unroll it and wrap it snug to the stem of the plant. Again, exclude the adults.

Keep searching for a supplier of Milky Spoor, comparing shipping costs as well. Might just go ahead and get the larger amount. Maybe split it with a friend. Find out if it can be kept for a while (maybe refrigerated?) so you can use it for several years.

I kinda wanted to try to save the plants that are in the planters now, since there is still a few months of growing weather left. I had always seen a few of these in the planters before but they never seemed to be a problem or was there this many of them.

I got some liquid Sevin and that seems to have killed them. hope fully the peppers will recover quickly.

Well, yes, Sevin is a good one to use against many beetles. Just follow the instructions about not harvesting for whatever length of time it says.
