A source for my Centranthus macrosiphon seeds, that is :)
A New Zealand seed company called "Nestlebrae Gardens" (formerly Grandma's Seeds & Gifts): http://www.helensville.co.nz/catalogue.htm
They are the only source I've found for these seeds in a reasonable quantity; (only one other commercial source, and they wanted to sell them in MASSIVE quantities - at a MASSIVE price, too!)
Anyway, this place has some interesting-sounding other seeds as well - several Passiflora varieties, and some "off-the-beaten-path" varieties of many other plants.
The cost is $2 per packet, plus $2 postage (which will cover several seed packets.)
I've e-mailed them to confirm they have the seeds I want in stock. I thought I'd share this new resource with all my DG friends, since it will soon be time to start ordering seeds for next year. With any luck I'll be able to share some of the seeds from these plants next year with ya'll :)
Terry
Eureka! I've found it!
That's great, Terry!
Melissa :-)
P.S. By-the-way,
How'd your greenhouse turn out?
Thanks, Melissa! Greenhouse creation is a process, LOL. We HAVE made progress - the PVC is all cemented together (since it's not a "hoop house" style, that was more involved than it sounds.) And the door opening is completed, as is the bracing on the opposite end.
DH is taking off again this Friday (we hope) so we can get the plastic attached. Still not exactly sure how we'll attach it on the ends, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
It may not take a village to raise a kid, but it sure took one to help us create a greenhouse!
