Don't know whether to plant in my yard, or keep in a large pot as an ornamental. I am in SW Florida in zone 9B. I know these can get pretty big and I may not have the room it would need at full size. Can't offend my friend who gave this for my birthday. The tree is about 3' tall and vigorous looking. Any advice? Thanks

I am in 9b, also, and Avocados freeze, unless I spray them with Cloud Cover.
I would plant it wherever you can protect it the best.
When I first planted mine I tarped it with clear plastic. Now it is too big.
