I have had this passion flower climbing up the south side of my house for three years now and no flowering. Is this typical that it should take this long? I live in Rhode Island and it dies back to the ground each winter but by august it is 10 ft tall and looks very vigorous.
I have included a couple of images (sorry for the orientation).
Any advice is appreciated!
Thank you.
Passion Flower plant has not flowered?
Hmm... I grew mine from seed and it flowered within a year. Are you fertilizing it? I toss on the leftover solution of Peters Excel(15-5-15) when I am watering my Bat Flower. A week after I started doing this, it produced a bud.
I do keep mine in pots that I bring indoors in the winter, though.
Maybe it is getting too much fertilizer. I apply no fertilizer to mine and they are blooming and have lemon sized passion fruit on them as we speak. I think it will be worth waiting for. Don't give up.
I have had various passion flowers - absolutely love them - but mine have also been finicky. I tried more water, less water, fertilizer, no fertilizer, etc and haven't found the secret yet. Good luck!
