Do many people grow dailies from seeds? I have never saved the seed pods....do you let them dry on the plant first? How long does it take in general to get a daylight that will bloom from seeds?

Do you mean daylilies? Yes, you would let the pods dry on the plant and harvest the seeds after the pods begin to crack open. Plant them about 1/8 inch deep. Mine usually took about 10 to 14 days to sprout. I think it took them about two years to grow large enough to bloom. Jill has a good article on the subject here:
