Larger photos and close ups of leaf and bark would help...

Kingsville, TX(Zone 9b)

Can you provide a close-up of the leaves and bark? A detailed verbal description would be most helpful for an accurate ID, too.

Ayrshire Scotland, United Kingdom

I agree with both of the above, the shape of the tree is one thing BUT, bark, leaf and even smell of the foliage or bark IF ANY, will give a more accurate ID.

The bark looks very white BUT that again could just be the light when the pic's was taken, this confusion will tell us all more and help to give you the info you require. Sooooo can you add a more detailed verbal description.

Best Regards.

In case you never get any more information on this tree, it is likely a member of Ulmaceae - and probably one of the Elm species.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3b)

Yup, that vase shape.

Humble, TX

Take a picture of a complete leaf (with something to show scale), twig with several leaves, and a seed or seeds.

Shape of the tree is meaningless, and bark is not much help either.

Contra Costa County, CA(Zone 9b)

Seeing as this was way back in August, I am not sure it is worth reviving.
However, bark ID can really help, and the overall shape of the tree can be a good clue to species.

Sometimes it takes all the clues possible to start getting close to an ID, so do not skimp on the pictures and description. No shortage of electrons!
