I ordered some bulbs on line and to my surprise they arrived in the mail today! I assumed I wouldn't see them til at least Sept. They are perennial hardy lilies, hardy gladiolas, liatris, anemones.
I planted 3 hardy glass and 3 ligature at the end of June (different order) and they are growing
I do not want to ruin my lilies and hardy glads and not get spring ...or next summer blooms so I am assuming I should not plant these til late Sept/early Oct. Is this correct? I am in Boston ...
bulbs arrive early
No, you should plant them right away. Lily bulbs, particularly, don't have the same mechanisms to survive dry storage that tulip and daffodil bulbs have - they will dry out.
