If I cut back portoluca will they keep blooming? I have some that are getting unwieldy. I would like to cut them back, however I do not want to hinder blooming potential. Any ideas? Thanks
Portoluca
Portulaca will produce more flowers when you trim off the old ones.
About the time you think are the last flowers before it freezes, keep these on the plant so they can set seed and save the seeds for next year.
I don't want to just remove old flowers. I would like to cut back plants by half. Will plants form new flowers if I do this?
If they are reasonably well established (month or more in the ground or pot) then you can cut them that much.
Thank you.
