Hello,
I just today received two baby fiddleleaf fig plants. They each came in a 4" growers pot. I put both of them in this 6" pot. Is this enough room for them or should I move them to the 9" pot I originally wanted to put them in? I put them here thinking the 9" pot would be too big for them.
If moving them to the bigger pot is best, should I wait until they've settled a bit first?
Another question: They arrived with some leaves having small brown spots. Should I be concerned?
Last question: How fast do Fiddleleaf Fig's grow? I'm really looking forward to it growing into a tree.
Thanks,
Nydia
Pot size for new Fiddleleaf Fig plant + other questions
Often when you unpot a small plant a lot of the soil falls away, leaving a lot less root than it might have looked like. If all the roots fit comfortably into the 6" pot, allowing perhaps an inch of new soil outside the root mass for them to grow into then that is OK. I agree, a 9" pot would probably have been too big.
They are slow growing IME.
