Is this blossom end rot on my squash?

vancouver, Canada

Hi,
I have been growing squash this summer and quite a few squash have ended up looking like this one in the picture. They barely get started before they turn brown. I live in Vancouver, which has very similar weather to the Pacific Northwest (rainy, cool) but the past couple of weeks have been really sunny. Is this blossom end rot? Is there anything I can do to get some squash off of these plants this summer?

Thanks for your help.

That looks like a lack of pollination. Have you gotten any mature fruit?

Your squash was not pollinated.
By the way, sun is great for your plants !

I have several like that, but have picked one nice squash- hopefully they will start getting pollinated.

If all else fails you can always hand pollinate,

It's definitely a lack of pollination. If you notice a lack of bees just grab a hobby paint brush and pollinate it yourself.

You don't even need a brush, but it won't hurt to use one. I just take a male flower and remove the flower petals then I go to each female flower and insert the pollen. More then one male flower can be used. WOW, keeping that sentence "clean" was very difficult. Don't want to offend anyone but....lol

I was at an elderly friend's garden, at an Assisted Living Community, last week and I saw his squash weren't producing so I pollinated one. I saw him there a few days later and he was so excited bc he was finally getting a squash. I showed him where i had put the Male flower. He looked at me and muttered something under his breath...then started laughing. Just proves that at 93 there is still a lot to learn.
