I needed to add some Monarda "Petite Delight" to some I already had. I know mine would spread but I'm having the garden club this week and I couldn't wait. I knew they were forced and I try not to go through the withdrawal they inevitably go thru when they get into my organic garden , but I bought them anyway. They have been in my garden for two months and looked very good until yesterday when they were covered in mildew. The original ones I have right beside them are fine. I should know better but I'm a sucker sometimes for these big, beautiful plants that get home and croak, or nearly so. I love my little mom and pop nursery where the plants you buy are small but get to my garden and spring to life!
Forced plants — ugh!
