Me too! I have had one pink bloom so far, that is it! My neighbor planted morning glories as well, and she asked me yesterday what going on? They just aren't growing! Wish I had an answer.
Morning Glories 2014 #08
Okay, I have an i nil open this am, will post pics tonight.. it is a ral dark purple with varigated leaves. Can't wait to show you, bet is is black king sport, but I will let tell me.. Just now getting more purp blooms, have some new ones, prolly from Jackie, and the crimson rambler came back this year.
Linda, I can't imagine why your MG;s aren't growing well as warm as it is there in Del Rio
What are your temps like?
Looking forward to your bloom pics Debra. Still waiting on a few purps to open here.
I'm not going to have the sheer # of mg's blooming as I did last yr,.Just too much going on.
Ronnie, you got any blooms?
Temps are in the high 90's to 104.
Pretty blooms Jackie
That seems high Linda with the 104 but I have no idea if it would affect not having blooms. I really don't keep up with our temps here.
Maybe if you keep giving them bloom booster, it might help.
It rained during the night and having more showers now. I was only able to take 2 pics today the rest of the blooms were damaged.
Looking forward to your blooms Debra.
Gorgeous blooms Debra. I enjoyed seeing them all!
any idea on that large purple. Helena?
Debra, those are beautiful!
Thanks LK and Helena.
Linda, I don't know what to make of your mg's not growing or doing well. I agree with
Helena, try some fertilizer.
Gorgeous Black King Helena.
Your blooms were worth the wait Debra.. The dark purple is a beauty. Love the Crimson Rambler and the dark blue purps, really pretty. Nice Gloriosa lily
Debra if that bloom is from seeds I sent you it might be a cross. Black King does have some variation o the colors. I grew Silver Wolf before and large blooms murasaki (I'll have to look up the name). But since it just started blooming you might keep an eye on the blooms to see what it does.
Here's my Mauve Splash and others repeats from today.
Love the Mauve splash, Helena. Does your Black King have varigated leaves? I am so excited to see any blooms, I am happy just seeing some. IS the third pic an Akatsu of some sort?
Helena, those are beautiful!
Helena, nice to see a pretty Mauve Splash. I hope I have one growing somewhere.
Your 2nd bloom is really special, the way the light is reflecting off of it.
I had a Pink Tie Dye open yesterday but the bees or something had ripped a big hole in the
bloom. My blue one is surely a Blue Blizz .
Today I had a lovely Lite Blue Tie Dye open and Blue lav Beauty.
Jackie, those are so pretty!
That blue lav beauty is gorgeous. Jackie. I bet you are in Bloom heaven right now.
Thanks Debra, Linda and Jackie.
Debra that third bloom is from "my purple tie dye" so I don't know if it would be an Akutsuki, I can't keep up with names any more. My Black King does have variegated leaves, I have at least 3 vines I grew this year. I will send you seeds this year of BK and a few others.
Beautiful blooms Jackie. Really love that blue bliz and your lite blue tie dye, all gorgeous!
I was able to repot a few of my seedlings this morning, found a couple of nice blooms on Keiryu. Here's a picture of my Tecoma in a big pot with good soil, I know my hummingbird is going to it but I think I should have planted it in the ground with some protection.
Thanks Linda, Deb and Helena.
Helena, wish I had planted a couple of Keiryu's, so
pretty.
The Tecoma is gorgeous.
Deb, I'm enjoying the few blooms I get each day. I hope I'll have something new open
in the morning. I did have an Aogakiyama open but it was deformed. I put some Lite Blue Tie Dye pollen on it.
Beautiful flowers everyone.
Debra, Love bloom # 1 and 3 in your 1st set of pics.
Beautiful Crimson Rambler and flaked Shibori in the 2nd set.
Nice purps too.

Gorgeous blooms Debra. I love the dahlias too, it's a treat to have blooms stay open late on cloudy days.
I don't enjoy it either when my g-kids take over my computer either. Registered the 2 young ones for school today. School starts here Aug. 7th. Time sure flies by fast. They've had a good summer just doesn't seem long enough.
Helena, thats why it was 4 am before I posted. (Kids hijacking the computer). Then my daughter took it.
OMGosh, Aug 7th, thats horrible. When I was a kid, we didn't go back until after Labor Day, Sep 1st or so. The Charter schools have already started back up here, they get 1 month out of school and apparantly the kids love it. They must make learning lots of fun for the students.
1st pic, BMN Wonder where BMN got this pollen, lol
PPV Plum Purple Velvet
Lite Blue Tie Dye
Aogakiyama
Hatsu
Jackie, it use to be after labor day for me too. I think my kids get 2 1/2 months off. If we don't have any bad weather they might get more days off during the holidays. It's just that it still so hot here for school to start in Aug.
II love your blooms Jackie. Nice BMN, I use to get a blue silk like bloom from BMN dark seeds.
I should try to find my seeds from that one. It's neat to get something unexpected. The color on all your blooms are very nice.
Thanks Helena. That light BMN bloom looks like Ona Lees white with pink stripes. Think I'll go pollinate it and the rest of my blooms. I don;t see any pods forming except where I've done the deed myself.
My kids hate school now Helena. Its that horrible Common core math. Some states I've read are doing away with it, good for them. I hope Ar does too.
Debra, I don;t know what Ona Lees original sds produced. My blooms were from sds shared with me by others and the blooms were very pale for me. Your blooms from those sds were lovely. Crazy about your # 4.
Beautiful blooms Debra. Love seeing your blooms. I hope too I got a large white and pink stripe going from Onalee's seed that I grew years ago. I lost seedlings from other times I tried to grow it by neglect.
These are my repeats. The last blooms is from a white lily that blooms every year, if I didn't take the seed pods it would take over the yard.
Beautiful blooms ladies! They are all so pretty!
Beautiful blooms Jackie, I'm partial to Aogakiyama, I like the first one too and the pink is nice too.
Thanks Linda and Helena.
Pretty sure I sent you Aogakiyama sds Helena. Let me
know when you get time to check. :-)
I am in love with that Aogakiyama, and can't wait to see the ones I have going from you bloom. I wanted to show you this silly little praying mantis I saw last night, hiding from the misting rain under a mg leaf on the arch.
I spent the day on Bed today.. migraine.. head still hurts but not as bad. Here are some mgs blooming this day last year..
Love the praying mantis pic Debra. Pretty blooms from last yr especially the Kikyo and
setosa???
Sorry you had a migraine. I've not been bothered with those the last few yrs and I'm very thankful.
Nice pictures Debra!I like the white one, with cream stars, and red center. Very pretty!
Nice to see your praying mantis Debra, wish I had some in my garden. Pretty nice blooms from last year too. I'm trying to grow several seedlings like your last one.
It's been light showers here so mg's are taking a break.
