spider mites

Melbourne, FL

I thought my orchids, which had been banished to the outside, had cleared up from the spider mites. I've now found them on my leafy green house plants. I'm afraid I'm going to lose everything. What do you guys use on houseplants to kill the nasty things? It's a hot time of the year to start start putting houseplants outside. Help
please!

Check out Azamax, which gasrocks turned me onto. It an OMRI-approved (or whatever it's called) pesticide, so it is very non-toxic. It interferes with bug growth and doesn't let the bugs get to a mature stage, but is so safe around humans it can be applied on food plants up to the day of harvest.

A thorough spritz with a mixture of 50/50 tapwater/ rubbing alcohol provides instant knockdown and very good control if used weekly. Be sure to cover leaf undersides and axils (leaf crotches).

I've never had a plant react adversely, but for the sake of surety, you might try it on a plant or two to be sure there is no phytotoxic reaction. As noted - I've never had a plant that reacted poorly to the treatment, so it should be a winner.
