I'm looking to buy 1 Bababerry, 1 Tayberry, 1 Anne Yellow & 1 Fall Gold. I live in Atlanta, Georgia and most places on-line I've found only do on-line shipping starting in November. Is there any Nurseries selling 3 year old plants within an hour drive? Is there a reason they only sell in November?
Thanks, Paul.
Raspberry plants - where can I buy some?
Anyone know what a 3 year old Raspberry plant shipped from Willis Orchard looks like? How many canes? I would think a 3 year old should have 4 canes. What is the difference between buying a 2 or 3 year old?
Anyone know of any Pick Your Own farms around Atlanta, GA that might have Bababerry, Tayberry, Anne Yellow or Fall Gold?
I'm done with this post.
Paul, I can't give absolute advice but perhaps you can find information through the Georgia Farmer's and Consumer's Market Bulletin. http://agr.georgia.gov/market-bulletin.aspx It used to be free though now there is a subscription fee. Growers advertise items sought and items for sale. Another suggestion is to contact UGA's Dep't of Ag and track someone down who can advise. Start here. http://extension.uga.edu/publications/detail.cfm?number=C766 UGA recommends planting between December and March. That would account for the shipping dates.
Post your questions on the Georgia forum. I know someone here who grows Heritage raspberries and she might be able to advise. Hope this helps.
