Agreed! Your Ti plants (Cordyline) look amazing, wish they were hardy here!

Ayrshire Scotland, United Kingdom

Love your choice of texture and colours, the red / pinks look great together and even the leaf shapes and sizes of the plants look good.

IF you don't have much confidence yet how to arrange or place different plants next to each other, Lay them out in the area in pots, step back and look at the textures /colours and different heights together, then if NOT to your liking, move them around, this way you don't have to dig up any mistakes you have made and you learn what looks nice beside the neighbouring plants / shrubs etc.
Buying plants is expensive and the fewer mishaps you have, the better.
It's a good idea to buy a soil testing kit. they cost about 5 dollars and are easy to use (believe me, I can follow the instructions) it gives you the PH of your soil and this indicates what type of plants will grow in your soil or maybe tell you to add peat, humus, other additions too once you know what the label on new plants tell you their likes / dislikes.

Remembe UNDER planting close to trees mean drier the soil will be so try ask garden store IF the plants you are purchasing will like drier soil. you need to make sure the plants are well watered under the trees. Tree roots are always the more dominant because their roots are large tough and greedy, so be aware you need to help your new plants along with water and maybe feed.

Hope this helps you out a bit, go to garden section in book store or local library and seek out beds / border plantings in your area and there will be lovely pictures with named plants and also give you ideas to copy these.
Best Regards.
Weenel.
