Hi. This is my first attempt planting a garden. I started everything inside from seed back in Feb and all has come along beautifully so far. (miracle of miracles if you knew my history with houseplants). A big rain came through last night and today I found a bunch of these bugs on my tomato plants. I scanned the first few pages of the bug pics forums before deciding it might be quicker and safer to ask here for assistance. My garden and I live right on the TX/OK border - straight south of Okla City.
Any help identifying is greatly appreciated. Oh - and maybe the best way to get rid of them?
Thank you.
what kind of bug is on tomato plants? (s. okla)
Looks like something that flies. You can knock them off, but they'll probably fly back if that's where they want to be. Are they damaging your plants?
Google:
Beetle Oklamoma tomato
There are some beautiful looking beetle (and non-beetle) pictures! Wow!
Anyway, yours might be a blister beetle.
