New here..first post. New to California..don't know what this is. Can anyone tell me??
Need help with identification.
Thank you!!
That might be a weed or a good plants.
Umbrella sedge is one common name.
The good ones stay in a small clump, spreading slowly.
The bad ones reseed and come up everywhere.
Look up the genus Cyperus, there are several that grow to different sizes, need to be in a pond or are OK out of the water and so on.
Thank you...after checking by name I see you are correct. Mine is not in a pond, just on the side of the house. We're under watering restriction here so I'm not sure it's going to spread, may wind up dying, but it is good to know what it is. I was thinking some kind of ornamental grass or something. Thanks again for your help.
