Where is germ plasm of Orlaya grandiflora burr-like seed?

Beautiful close-up photos of Orlaya grandiflora are presented elsewhere on this site.

For the life of me, though, I can't figure out the anatomy of the seed and where its actual germ plasm is located. After the plant flowers, burr-like small green seeds in "water- droplet-like" shapes appear, grow larger, turn yellowish-green, then turn dry and medium brown in color. The seed husk is bivalved and "hinged" at the bottom. The junction where the bivalves meet turns darker and more obvious, then slowly the bivalve husks begin parting, a little bit at a time, from the superior (narrow) end of the "burr," resulting in two equal halves of the original prickly droplet-shaped seed. I can't detect where the germ plasm is. To my eye it is not anything obvious along the vertical midline of the burr. Is it microscopic? Is it between the husk of the seed and the central cavity lining? There is a slim fragile "thread" of tissue extending from top to bottom of the seed between the husk halves; is that the entrance to the ovary?

Sorry no one has got back to you with any form of help.

I've read your thread over and over again and as much as I've been gardening for many years and know quite a bit, however Gardening as a past time or occupation where you always learn, no matter how smart we think we are.

I would try a different approach here, as the NAME of the FORUM suggests, this is a place for Beginners Flowers, so I have Not a clue what your question is, what all the jargon in your question is meant to represent and to be honest, IF you know all that info about any type of seed, I suggest you really have more than enough going on either in your head or visiting planet.

Maybe I'm totally wrong but, I honestly don't think you need any help here as your well versed in your own right.

Hope someone can help you with answers for your problem.
Best Regards.

MargaretBWalker, I'm a beginning gardener and do not understand your question.

Try posting your question at http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/propagation/all/ where experienced gardeners discuss various propagation methods.

Good luck!
