Watermelon & Onions-Companion planting

Does anyone know if it would be okay to plant a few Sugar Baby Watermelon next to some yellow onions in a raised bed! I was planning to plant bush beans until I found out that was a no-no.

I have seen watermelons grow next to leeks and garlic , I don't really know though.
Seems like it would be okay to me , onions might even deter borers ?

Yes ,, indeed to try and hope to succeed , most of the time that is where I am ,,
only ever have gotten a few watermelons to grow right here .
Here's my hybrid sprouts across from leeks and garlic
