Help!!!! my westeria has been in the ground (two plants) for 8 years and still no blooms. It is Chinese westeria.
I have tried root pruning, 12-12-12 fertilizer, Pruning the runners back, What else can I do???????
In California I had beautiful vines and blooms, but here in Michigan beautiful vines and no flowers. And the plants came from a local nursery in Michigan.
Any help would be great

Non-blooming westeria
I have heard that these things take a LONG time to finally bloom. But I would have thought that they should have bloomed already, since you have had them for 8 years! Are they getting full sun??
sorry I can't help, but I'll keep my finger's crossed that you get blooms this coming spring.
Because of where you live the blooms may be falling off due to a hard freeze. When spring is nearing have you noticed a swelling on the ends. These are the buds forming. If you have a freeze these will die and fall off. I live in ga and usually don't have this problem. But when we are having a late frost I cover my wister with sheets. Hope this helps.
jcf could be right since it gets very cold there and freezing temps...maybe you should prune after dangers of frost or do you do this already?
Hope this helps!
Rebecca
