Twisted tomato leaf?

Cascade, VA(Zone 7a)

My tomato starts have been coming along great and looking quite strong, although i woke up to something interesting, several of them have....all i can describe as "twisted", their leaves, one of them even completely flipped upside down. I keep them in my southern window with the blinds twisted open, and a full spectrum CFL bulb to supplement. I just wonder if that is too much for them? or if it is too much water / not enough water? Craving a specific nutrient? Disease? (heaven forbid), or is this a normal behavior?

Thanks!

i should note that they are not wilted or floppy, just bent over in a strange position

ok another update, some of the leaves on some plants are dropping off if touched--despite looking lush and healthy, a bit of concern is definitely raised by now!

Can you post this on the tomato forum? I can't even offer any ideas, but I am interested....is this happening to all the varieties? Good luck!

so far it has only happened to the german johnson, and the Great Whites, the paul robeson and green zebra have not had the issue

Your plants look hungry. The purple usually indicates a lack of potassium. I bet if you feed them a dilute solution of a good liquid fertilizer they will become happy again.

funny enough, i give them a weekly dose of this stuff,

but i have been worried about burning them at such a small size to tell the truth, and was just misting a bit at the base of each plant once per week. Tomorrow would be feeding day again so i guess i should go ahead and go normal strength then?

The numbers of that witches brew seem ok but me I use good old Alaska fish fertilizer or even M.G and never get purple leafs anymore. Do as you wish Grasshopper and may the force be with you.

perhaps provide a link to the fish based fertilizer that you use--if it can be found online? :)

you are really supposed to use the product i posted above in conjunction with this,

i just havent found the funds to get myself one just yet

The purple coloring can also indicate that the temps are too cold...some times it just happens, until they are planted out. There are a lot more less expensive products that can be used, one eweed mentioned. When my plants are that small I try not to wet the foliage only the soil. That "twisting" really has me wondering.

oh yes, when its watering time, i fill my bathroom sink up and sink the cups down in there until i see the moisture begin to collect on the surface.

can it also come from wind stress? As i have a floor fan going constantly in here.

IDK, I'm going to follow your thread on the Tomato Forum....have you tried to put the leaves back in their " normal" position? It's weird bc only 2 varieties are doing this. I've had terrible yields with Great White...I hope you will post how they do for you. I hope the do well. But this whole thing has me stumped.

yeah i try to twist the leaf back over gently, but it flops right back over, today its not as severe as it was when i first posted, but it is still in a funky position, lol.

I think the plants are losing their marbles. Lol

well i have some good news, one of the White Wonders is starting to bounce back, the newly grown in leaves are looking normal so far, holding my breath about the others

well another update, most of my tomato plants are making a rebound from the setback, but two of them appear to be taking a turn for the worst.....of COURSE they both would have to be the german johnsons. One has a leaf that has yellowed, and i am noticing some inward leaf rolling. While the other.....well, the photo speaks for itself, lol. I had given all of the tomatoes a dose of pickling lime and used coffee grounds and they seemed to have picked up on that, but not these two, obviously.
